Event Info

Some of the best kayak anglers in the world are heading to Broadwater in Australia to contest the 8th Hobie Fishing World Championship in July 2019. It will be the third appearance of the championship on the Australian continent after Hobie Fishing Worlds 3 was successfully staged outside of Marlo on Bemm River in 2013 and the first Hobie Fishing Worlds held at Port Macquarie in New South Wales.

In the lead up to competition, anglers will have the opportunity to sound-out and pre-fish the location, which is unfamiliar to most, before the start of competition. All the action will take place within the Coral Sea and Nerang River where anglers will target bream over the three days of the world championship competition.

The event will see many anglers getting their first taste of Australian fishing as well as Australian culture and hospitality.
