The 2024 Hobie Fishing Worlds Pre-Fish sessions continued today on the Municipality of Lakeshore Practice Day. Cooler temperatures and a brisk north wind greeted the anglers, though the wind eased as the day progressed.
Tournament Director Steve Fields briefed the competitors on the proper identifiers for recording their fish, ensuring accuracy and fairness in the scoring process as there is a world championship at stake and it is imperative that all anglers submit their fish correctly.
Ron Champion from Team USA topped the leaderboard with five bass totalling 82.5 inches. However, it was Jim Orr, also from Team USA, who claimed the top spot over the two practice days, with ten bass measuring 165.25 inches.
Competition begins in earnest tomorrow with LOWRANCE Championship Day One. The day kicks off atwith a 4:30am breakfast, 6:00 am with keytag allocation, followed by a briefing and the anglers hitting the water for the first true day of championship competition at first safe light. Stay tuned as results will be posted live throughout the day.
