LOWRANCE Championship Day One Results

Anglers were up and at breakfast at 4:30am before a 6:00am key tag allocation briefing.

Anglers were off the beach at 6:51am for a shotgun start on the first day of Competition in LOWRANCE Day One of the 2024 Hobie Fishing World Championship. Just seven minutes later, the first bass was on the scoreboard at 6:58 from Andrea Cavallini from Italy. 

The day began with slightly cloudy skies and a gentle north-northeasterly wind at approximately 8 mph. By mid-morning, the wind picked up to 10 mph, shifting eastward as the day progressed. By the end of the competition at 3 PM, the wind had settled into an east-southeast direction.

A solid day’s fishing was had with a total of 373 over the course of the session.

Jim Orr from the USA had a great day landing 13 Bass with a total 91.00″ after culling 8. Florian Linner from Germany trailed by 1/4 of an inch after culling 2 for 90.75” and the Italian, Andrea Cavallini filled out he top three after culling 2 for 90” and landing the Biggest Bass of the day at 21”.

Competitors returned to shore before heading to the Hobie Asia Pacific / Tapas and Angler’s Choice Award Dinner where they voted for the person who most exemplifies the sportsmanship, skill, and camaraderie of a Hobie Fishing World Championship.

The award will be presented at tomorrows briefing.
